Some of the best places for independent and experienced cyclists to try this exciting experience include the forests of Glenfeshire, Rothiemurchus and Glenmore, Glenfeshie. Those who prefer to cycle with a group should head to Laggan Wolftrax, where special cycling trips are organised to explore the mountain bike trails.

People who want to get a feel for the history and culture of Aviemore should pay a visit to the Aviemore Stone Circle. This ancient stone circle is steeped in myth and legend and is believed by many people to have healing powers.

Climate conditions

The ocean climate that Aviemore is graced with means that temperatures tend to be rather cool here all year round and rainfall is a frequent event. There is still plenty of sunshine to experience between May and September however, while people who want to try their hands at skiing and other types of winter sports will find that the season starts around the end of November and typically lasts until the middle of February.
